Counting on a Cowboy (Grumpy Cowboys, Book 1)

Second Chance at Love Romance

After a crushing divorce, Piper Hills Baker gets a second chance at love when she moves to Cassidy Falls, Texas, to breathe life into a run-down ranch she received as a settlement.

Sawyer has just moved back to Jefferson; he left three years ago after his beloved wife, Jane, died. Her death had completely thrown him off guard, and one night he just left with no one knowing where he had gone to. Now he’s back with the little money he had earned working in ranches all around Texas, looking to start afresh. The money will only last him a short time, and he needs to find a job. At a bar, he hears that the old smith ranch on the outskirts of town was to be opened again, and they need an experienced rancher to do the job.

Piper arrives in Jefferson, but the ranch is not at all what she expected. The ranch was not worth what John had claimed and having been abandoned for years, most of the structures were dilapidated, and the neighboring ranch had encroached on the land. Piper hires Sawyer to help her open up the ranch, but it seems her neighbor Noah Martinez is not ready to let go of the land he has encroached onto. He frustrates Sawyer’s and Piper’s efforts to bring the ranch back to life. While they both try to save the ranch, Sawyer and Piper develop a friendship that grows into something deeper.

This is a full-length novel, previously published in six parts as The Ranch Series.
