I teach dyslexic people to read well. But I can't work with every kid or even teach enough teachers to work with every kid. The only way to make a real difference seemed to be gathering the best ideas from research, simplifying them into easy-to-follow steps, and putting them into an affordable book. So that's what I did, with the help of my extremely dyslexic daughter. She's got a doctorate and two masters, so she wasn't nearly as "uneducable" as her first grade teacher claimed!
